Phillip Krieg and HiveMinded
HiveMinded is a company based in Silicon Valley that focuses on rebuilding the honey bee population in Silicon Valley by installing and maintaining beehives on corporations ' sites. They allow employees to get involved in this sustainability initiative by hosting hove tours and engagement programs.

HiveMinded is run by three beekeepers: Phillip Krieg, Katharine Rondthaler, and Andrew Salter. For this project my team and I will be working closely with Phillip Krieg to implement different monitoring devices on one of HiveMinded's beehives in Santa Clara University's Forge Garden.
Community:
Santa Clara University Forge Garden
The Forge Garden is a half acre, garden a block off campus that engages students and community members in sustainable growing and learning activities. The Forge Garden currently has four occupied beehives maintained by Phillip Krieg and two unoccupied beehives that our team will using to install the hive scale in.

The Forge Garden has honey available at their farmer's markets fro. the hives and Phillip Krieg gives hive tour to some environmental science classes at Santa Clara University.
